Frequently Asked Questions
How do reusable and disposable base molds differ?
The reusable option is a stainless steel mold; the disposable CBM option is HDPE. Select the material according to the laboratory reuse and cleaning workflow, then confirm the cavity dimensions for that product family.
Are cavity sizes identical across the base-mold families?
No. The CBM and CMX474 catalogs list 7 × 7, 15 × 15, 24 × 24, 30 × 24 and 37 × 24 mm cavities with 5 mm depth. The TBM reusable catalog lists 7 × 7, 15 × 15, 25 × 25, 25 × 30 and 25 × 37 mm sizes. Use the selected catalog and model rather than treating the families as interchangeable.
What should I confirm before ordering a base mold?
Provide the mold family, specimen dimensions, required cavity depth, cassette model and reuse preference. Current model availability, fit and pack quantity are confirmed during quotation.
