Founded in Taiwan in 1978, CHEMEX established its Tainan operation in 1981. Experience in precision equipment and tooling grew into histology consumables, plastic injection and metal components, with Tainan and Taipei teams supporting customers in Taiwan and abroad.

The meaning behind CHEMEX

The name CHEMEX combines Chemical and Mechanical. The gear represents Mechanical — engineering, precision manufacturing and production capability. The laboratory flask represents Chemical — chemistry, materials and laboratory applications. Together they express the core of CHEMEX: turning laboratory and engineering requirements into manufacturable products and practical solutions.

From precision equipment to histology manufacturing

1978
Company founded
Established in Xindian for precision tooling equipment and plastic product trading.
1981
Tainan operations established
Developed precision tooling and plastic injection activities for overseas markets.
1990s
Entering histology
Began designing and overseeing production of histology processing parts with Dr. McCormick’s guidance and collaboration.
2013
Injection manufacturing
Investment in injection equipment developed cassette and plastic product manufacturing.

From a hand-drawn concept to a product

Pathologist and inventor Dr. James B. McCormick brought his hand-drawn concepts to CHEMEX. Product design and sample review gave those ideas a practical form, illustrating Brings Ideas to Life through a long collaboration.

Engineering experience rooted in precision equipment

Experience in profile grinding and tooling informs the review of materials, dimensions, geometry and manufacturability for histology consumables and custom components.

Histology consumables at our core

Embedding cassettes, base molds and brain / heart research matrices support tissue processing, paraffin embedding and research. Plastic injection and metal components extend our manufacturing scope.

Serving international markets from Taiwan

Tainan is our main production base. Our histology business serves North America, Europe and Asia through international OEM/ODM programs and supply to selected healthcare institutions in Taiwan.

OEM / ODM collaboration

Projects start with an application, drawing or sample. Materials, tooling, sampling, inspection, packaging and documentation are agreed for each program.

Taiwan customer support

Tainan supports histology consumables, while Taipei supports profile grinding and accessories. Textile machinery projects are reviewed according to the product and site requirements.

Quality and corporate responsibility

Quality information includes ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit approval, U.S. FDA establishment registration and D&B business-basic-information verification. On October 3, 2020, CHEMEX donated 300,000 tissue embedding cassettes to Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, alongside medical support and local welfare cooperation.
